Typical Homes Are Vulnerable to Wildfire
We spent years studying how flames and embers ignite homes during a wildfire and have identified mitigation actions that reduce the chance a home will be ignited. These actions comprise the requirements of Wildfire Prepared Home and when taken together give your home better protection against wildfire.
Steps to Wildfire Prepared Home
After years of studying damage caused by wildfire, we have made it a priority to help homeowners, like you, take the most critical actions to protect your home.
Prepare Your Home
Use the checklist in the Wildfire Prepared Home Homeowner Guide to ensure you take all the actions required to achieve a designation.
Once you’ve taken the required actions:
· Take the free online home assessment to see if your home meets all the requirements for a designation before you apply and pay for an inspection.
· If your home qualifies, you will be prompted to enter your contact information, home address, and payment details to apply.
· An inspector will physically verify your home meets all the requirements and a team of wildfire experts will review the documentation provided. A Wildfire Prepared Home designation will then be issued.
Have Peace of Mind When Wildfire Threatens
